Founded in 2004,
DRFarm was the Ancient City’s first animal welfare organization to address the area’s equine welfare issues.
Recognizing that there are few alternatives for aging horses
that have been long-time faithful servants, the organization’s primary goal is to provide a permanent home for retired horses
when they can no longer perform their job.
Because St. John’s County, FL does not have an animal welfare program in place for farm animals, the farm also handles rescue cases involving everything from goats, pigs and chickens in addition to the horses. They are rehabilitated and placed in new forever homes when the time and situation are appropriate.
Many of our permanent residents
have had interesting and accomplished careers.
Some are from well-known, famous bloodlines like
Man o' War, War Admiral, Alydar and Secretariat.
Others came from careers in Polo, Dressage & Jumping.
All of them enjoy the attention of volunteers and visitors.
Our facility is located in the World Golf Village area &
Visitors are welcome to any of our
Open House Events or by Appointment.
